Connectivity through Pastures

About the Project

“Connectivity through Pastures” (CtP) is supported by the European Green Belt and the European Union, and aims to address the challenges faced by a highly neglected typology of natural ecosystems found in our country, pastures. In particular, the project follows the requirements for rehabilitation or halting the environmental degradation that pastures along the eastern edges of the Albanian Green Belt are facing.

Project goals

“CtP” will bring a comprehensive assessment of the conditions in the pastures of the eastern Albanian Green Belt, stretching (from north to south) in the Municipalities of Kukës, Dibër, Bulqizë, and Librazhd. The assessment of the situation will be outlined by a comprehensive study of the geo-morphological features of the area, as well as the botanical-ecological characteristics and the impact of climate on them, following the Natura 2000 methodology. Additionally, an assessment of the socio-economic impact of the changes experienced by these ecosystems will be conducted.
